Swedish
Massage
Swedish Massage is the
most frequently used massage therapy for relaxation and stress reduction. Other
benefits include reducing fatigue, promoting deeper breathing, and
strengthening the immune system.
Deep Tissue Massage
Deep Tissue Massage is
a slower, deeper massage than Swedish massage. The
therapist will work deeper into the tissue, to release tension and
tightness of the muscle fibers.
Neuromuscular Therapy
Neuromuscular therapy
is an advanced system of deep-tissue manipulation. During
the massage, “sore spots” in the muscles (called trigger
points) are found and muscular tension is released. Indications for
Neuromuscular Therapy are repetitive stress injuries, sport injuries,
muscle trauma, muscle weakness or overuse, and migraine headaches.
Lomi Lomi Massage
This is a traditional Hawaiian massage. There are many meanings for Lomi Lomi, but one that fits well is “Loving Hands”, which describes the intention of the giver. It is a massage that works slowly yet deeply into the muscles with long, flowing strokes. Usually done with coconut oil, this massage is very relaxing, restorative, and healing. On the first visit, expect the session to last 1-1/2 to 2 hours.
Reiki
Reiki is an ancient Japanese
method of energy healing that involves light touch by the practitioner. Reiki can reduce pain, mental
and emotional stress, and foster a feeling of serenity. This
method of healing can be provided as a one-hour session, or be included
as part of a massage session.
Jin Shin Jyutsu
Jin Shin Jyutsu is a gentle art, practiced by placing the fingertips (over clothing) on designated safety energy locks to harmonize, restore, and revitalize the body's energy flows. It is beneficial to address existing stress or 'dis-ease,' as well as to maintain health and well-being. Jin Shin Jyutsu physio-philosophy was revived in the early 1900s by Master Jiro Murai of Japan, and brought to the USA by his student Mary Burmeister in the 1960s.
Chair Massage
This massage focuses on
the neck, shoulders and upper back, while the client relaxes in a specially-designed
chair. Massage therapists
are available to provide this form of massage in our office, at businesses,
festivals and other events.
Fees
Fees are established by each practitioner, according to their training, experience, and specialized services. Generally, fees are in the $35-$70 range for one-hour sessions. Several of our practitioners offer a sliding fee scale, as well as longer or shorter sessions. Payment is due at the time the service is provided. We do not accept credit or debit cards, only cash or check. To schedule an appointment, contact a practitioner directly, or call the main number and an appointment will be arranged with the practitioner that best meets your needs.
