Gary LloydGary, the owner of West Asheville Massage and Healing Arts, attended Pittsburgh School of Massage Therapy and completed the Basic and Advanced programs of study.  His primary training included Swedish Massage and Neuromuscular Therapy, while having exposure to many other forms of massage therapy.  Recently, he added Lomi Lomi massage, which is traditional Hawaiian massage, to the list of modalities he offers.  Gary has experience working with cancer patients and people with chronic diseases.   Gary is also a Usui Reiki Master.  His focus is to provide the most appropriate massage for each individual’s specific needs, as well as to promote overall wellness and deeper healing.  

In his leisure time, Gary enjoys yoga, golf and walking.  He and his wife, Deb, also enjoy traveling to new places, and spending time with family and friends.


Anais Strickling, LMBT

Anais graduated in 2007 from the Asheville School of Massage and Yoga.  She has also received a 100 hour medical massage certificate and is Reiki certified.  Anais provides an integrated massage combining Swedish, deep tissue, trigger point work, reflexology, and Reiki.  Hot stones and hot towels can also be integrated into your treatment to provide extra relaxation.

Anais will work with you to create a session that brings the body into a place of balance and relaxation.  We can also work together to bring relief to any areas of  discomfort with more specific massage that can focus on your areas of pain. 
Anais enjoys reading, traveling, cooking, hiking and biking, spending time with her family and practicing yoga. 


Mary Osada , LMBT

Mary Osada has been practicing massage since 2002 and considers it a blessing to thoroughly enjoy the work she is doing. Mary believes that by providing consistent high quality massages, you can assist the body in achieving homeostasis, defined as a stable constant internal condition. Using massage therapy as a medium to achieve homeostasis contributes to health and wellness.  Mary also believes in the power of therapeutic touch to help heal an individal both physically and emotionally.  Mary currently offers both Swedish and Deep Tissue Massage.

Chris CintronChris graduated from the Soma Institute of Clinical Massage Therapy in Chicago in 2001.  Since then, he has worked in clinical and spa settings as well as his own private practice.  Chris offers primarily Swedish, Deep Tissue and Hot Stone Massage along with Shamanic Healing.

For the past few years, Chris has been studying dream work, core shamanism and the shamanic practices of his Taino ancestry.  Upon request, Chris incorporates shamanic healing into his massage and is grateful to be exploring this spiritual path of healing with you.

When he’s not massaging, Chris enjoys yoga, hiking and spending time with his wife and son.


Tonya Hughes, LMBT

Tonya HughesTonya is a graduate of The Whole You School of Massage and Bodywork; and incorporates various massage and bodywork modalities into her therapeutic massage sessions.  Some of the massage modalities utilized include: Swedish to facilitate relaxation, Neuromuscular (deep tissue) to facilitate release of muscular tightness (“knots”), Structural Rebalancing to facilitate balance of over-stressed muscles, and Joint Mobilization to facilitate flexibility.  Other bodywork and energy modalities such as Shiatsu and Reflexology may also be included within the session. Tonya is a Reiki II Practitioner and is currently taking additional training to become a Quantum Touch Practitioner. 

Tonya has extensive training and experience in the area of mental health, and views massage and bodywork as a tool for reconnecting the body, mind, and spirit. When the body, mind, and spirit are honored and recognized as vital intertwining components of the whole person... the core for true healing becomes possible. 


Deb Lloyd, LCSW

Deb LloydDeb has been practicing Usui Reiki since 2001, and a few years ago, she became a Reiki Master to introduce the practice of Reiki to others.  She has found Reiki to bring powerful healing energy into her life, including healing of physical, emotional and spiritual issues.  She is available to do Reiki treatments, as well as provide Reiki training at West Asheville Massage and Healing Arts.

Deb is also a licensed clinical social worker and works for a hospice in a neighboring county. She is an avid reader, practices yoga, enjoys gardening and playing the piano. 

 

 


Deborah Somerville

A certified Jin Shin Jyutsu practitioner and self-help teacher since 2001, Deborah Somerville has taught workshops in California, Eritrea, Turkey, Qatar, and India. New to Asheville, Deborah looks forward to sharing this ancient art that promotes healing and harmony through deep relaxation.

After completing her initial Jin Shin Jyutsu coursework in 2001, Deborah interned for one year with Rose Murray, of California, who was an early student of Mary Burmeister's. Mary founded Jin Shin Jyutsu, Inc, based in Scottsdale, AZ.

Deborah is a member of the Associated Bodywork and Massage Professionals (ABMP).
