Gary,
the owner of West Asheville Massage and Healing Arts, attended Pittsburgh
School of Massage Therapy and completed the Basic and Advanced programs
of study. His primary training is in Swedish Massage
and Neuromuscular Therapy, while having exposure to many other forms
of massage therapy. He has experience working
with cancer patients
and people with chronic diseases. Gary is also a Usui Reiki Master. His
focus is to provide the most appropriate massage for each individual’s
specific needs, as well as to promote overall wellness and deeper healing.
In his leisure time, Gary enjoys yoga, golf
and walking. He
and his wife, Deb, also enjoy traveling to new places, and spending
time with family and friends.

Anais
is a graduate of the Asheville School of Massage and Yoga. She
enjoys giving an integrated massage that combines Swedish, neuromuscular
(trigger point) therapy, energy work and reflexology. She is
also a certified Reiki practitioner.
Anais has a BA in Natural Resource Management
and has worked with environmental education and as an outdoor adventure
trip leader. After
spending a year in India she was drawn to the field of bodywork. For
her, giving a massage is like being in meditation, in a place of stillness. She
offers her clients a sense of relaxation and pain relief. She loves
giving the sense of peace to her clients. She has a love for
travel and has worked in the rain forests of Belize and trekked through
the outback of Australia. She loves hiking, biking, cooking and
practicing yoga.
Colette Frogale,

Colette
is a graduate of the Asheville School of Massage and Yoga. She
has been living in Asheville for the past 10 years, and she graduated
from Warren Wilson College with a a degree in Outdoor Leadership. She
has spent many years traveling and learning about sustainable agriculture,
communities, meditation, yoga, health and nutrition.
Colette offers integrative, deep tissue, and chair massage, as well
as Reiki sessions. It is her vision
to provide a service that addresses the needs of every individual. Massage
uses the powerful sense of touch to bring awareness, ease pain, and
bring health and vitality back to our bodies. As an avid backpacker,
kayaker, and gardener, she has realized how important it is to listen
to our bodies and be respectful of the various demands we place upon
them in our daily lives. Her intention is to facilitate the process
of awakening to ourselves as a whole, body, mind, and spirit, through
massage.
Chris Cintron

Chris graduated from the Soma Institute of
Clinical Massage Therapy in Chicago in 2001. Since then, he has worked in clinical and
spa settings as well as his own private practice. Chris offers
primarily Swedish, Deep Tissue and Hot Stone Massage along with Shamanic
Healing.
For the past few years, Chris has been studying
dream work, core shamanism and the shamanic practices of his Taino
ancestry. Upon request,
Chris incorporates shamanic healing into his massage and is grateful
to be exploring this spiritual path of healing with you.
When he’s not massaging, Chris enjoys
yoga, hiking and spending time with his wife and son.

Erin Brown received her BFA in Modern Dance & Choreography from
Virginia Commonwealth University in 2000. It was here she began
her in-depth study of human anatomy, body alignment, and kinesiology. In
2005, she furthered her studies of the body and journey of personal
growth by graduating from the Potomac Massage Training Institute of
Washington, DC. Her style primarily consists of a Swedish and
Deep Tissue Combo tailored to meet the needs of the individual client. She
enjoys bringing safety and peace to her clients while helping them
release muscular tension. In addition to her interests in massage,
she enjoys meditation, yoga, hiking, and cooking.
Tonya Hughes, LMBT

Tonya is a graduate of The Whole You School of Massage and Bodywork; and incorporates various massage and bodywork modalities into her therapeutic massage sessions. Some of the massage modalities utilized include: Swedish to facilitate relaxation, Neuromuscular (deep tissue) to facilitate release of muscular tightness (“knots”), Structural Rebalancing to facilitate balance of over-stressed muscles, and Joint Mobilization to facilitate flexibility. Other bodywork and energy modalities such as Shiatsu and Reflexology may also be included within the session. Tonya is a Reiki II Practitioner and is currently taking additional training to become a Quantum Touch Practitioner.
Tonya has extensive training and experience in the area of mental health, and views massage and bodywork as a tool for reconnecting the body, mind, and spirit. When the body, mind, and spirit are honored and recognized as vital intertwining components of the whole person... the core for true healing becomes possible.

Deb has been practicing Usui Reiki since 2001,
and a few years ago, she became a Reiki Master to introduce the practice
of Reiki to others. She
has found Reiki to bring powerful healing energy into her life, including
healing of physical, emotional and spiritual issues. She is available
to do Reiki treatments, as well as provide Reiki training at West Asheville
Massage and Healing Arts.
Deb is also a licensed clinical social worker
and works for a hospice in a neighboring county. She is an avid reader,
practices yoga, enjoys gardening and playing the piano.
