When Gary learned Reiki several years ago, he was intrigued by the changes that came through the treatments he provided.  This led to him attend massage school for two years on weekends, and eventually embrace massage therapy and Reiki as his second career.  He has learned to combine his left-brain thoughts with his right-brain intuition to provide cohesive sessions for his clients.  Gary’s intention for his work as a massage therapist and Reiki practitioner is to provide bodywork therapies that assist his clients in their well-being. 

 Gary provides massage treatments that combine Swedish Massage and Neuromuscular Therapy to address each individual’s specific needs.  Reiki, a Japanese energy healing modality that heals body, mind, and spirit, can be provided as a stand-alone session or incorporated in a massage treatment.  Prior to a session, he and his client agree on the type of treatment to be provided.   Gary also gives Hawaiian Lomilomi massage, an intuitive, healing experience.  With body-long strokes, this modality connects every part of the person.  These sessions last 1-1/2 – 2 hours.

Gary has worked with a wide variety of clients.  Many look for the health benefits of a relaxation massage, while others seek pain relief from a specific ailment.  People he has treated include those living with cancer, fibromyalgia, stroke, and, polio. 

Gary is a professional member of the American Massage Therapy Association, the Society for Oncology Massage, and the Asheville Natural Wellness group.

Mary Osada has been practicing massage since 2002 and considers it a blessing to thoroughly enjoy the work she is doing. Mary believes that by providing consistent high quality massages, you can assist the body in achieving homeostasis, defined as a stable constant internal condition. Using massage therapy as a medium to achieve homeostasis contributes to health and wellness. Mary also believes in the power of therapeutic touch to help heal an individal both physically and emotionally. Mary currently offers both Swedish and Deep Tissue Massage.

Chris graduated from the Soma Institute of Clinical Massage Therapy in Chicago in 2001. Since then, he has worked in clinical and spa settings as well as his own private practice. Chris offers primarily Swedish, Deep Tissue and Hot Stone Massage along with Shamanic Healing.

For the past few years, Chris has been studying dream work, core shamanism and the shamanic practices of his Taino ancestry. Upon request, Chris incorporates shamanic healing into his massage and is grateful to be exploring this spiritual path of healing with you.

When he’s not massaging, Chris enjoys yoga, hiking, and spending time with his wife and son.

Tonya is a graduate of The Whole You School of Massage and Bodywork; and incorporates various massage and bodywork modalities into her therapeutic massage sessions. Some of the massage modalities utilized include: Swedish to facilitate relaxation, Neuromuscular (deep tissue) to facilitate release of muscular tightness (“knots”), Structural Rebalancing to facilitate balance of over-stressed muscles, and Joint Mobilization to facilitate flexibility. Other bodywork and energy modalities such as Shiatsu and Reflexology may also be included within the session. Tonya is a Reiki II Practitioner and is currently taking additional training to become a Quantum Touch Practitioner.

Tonya has extensive training and experience in the area of mental health, and views massage and bodywork as a tool for reconnecting the body, mind, and spirit. When the body, mind, and spirit are honored and recognized as vital intertwining components of the whole person… the core for true healing becomes possible.

Deb has been practicing Usui Reiki since 2001, and a few years ago, she became a Reiki Master to introduce the practice of Reiki to others. She has found Reiki to bring powerful healing energy into her life, including healing of physical, emotional and spiritual issues. She is available to do Reiki treatments, as well as provide Reiki training at West Asheville Massage and Healing Arts.

Deb is also a licensed clinical social worker and works for a hospice in a neighboring county. She is an avid reader, practices yoga, enjoys gardening, and playing the piano.

Kerry has been a therapist since 2001 and focuses on Neuromuscular and Deep Tissue Therapies to relieve chronic pain from injuries or surgery.  She is also certified in Prenatal Massage and can provide Thai and PNF stretching as well.  Kerry has been in Asheville for over 9 years and enjoys the gift of massage and bodywork.
